Freekey is a SaaS platform that helps educators create, organize, and deliver learning content (question banks, quizzes, tests, summaries, and related materials) using AI-assisted tools, and helps students access personalized learning support through the AI Mentor product.

2.1 Information you provide directly

• Account information: Name, email address, phone number, institution/organisation name, role (teacher, admin, student), and password (stored in encrypted/hashed form).
• Billing information: Billing name, address, GSTIN (if applicable), and payment details. Card/UPI/bank details are collected and processed directly by our payment gateway partner(s); Freekey does not store full card numbers.
• Content you upload: PDFs, images, handwritten notes, videos, question banks, and other academic material you upload to create or convert content ("User Content").
• Communications: Information you provide when contacting support, filling a demo/contact form, or joining our WhatsApp community.

2.2 Student / learner information

Where an institution or teacher enables the Student Test Portal, Doubt Portal, or AI Mentor for their students, we may collect a student's name, class/grade, contact details, responses to questions/quizzes, doubts asked, and learning activity data. This information is provided to us by the institution/educator, who is responsible for obtaining any necessary consent from students and/or their parents/guardians before providing such data to us.

Note on minors: Freekey is intended to be used by students through their school, coaching institute, or educator, and not signed up for directly by children without adult/institutional involvement. If you are an institution or educator, you confirm that you have the necessary rights and consents to share student data with us for the purpose of providing the Service.

2.3 Information collected automatically

• Usage data: Pages visited, features used, questions created/exported, login times, and interactions with the Platform.
• Device and log data: IP address, browser type, device identifiers, operating system, and referring URLs.
• Cookies and similar technologies: Used for authentication, remembering preferences, analytics, and improving the Service. You can control cookies through your browser settings.

We use the information we collect to:

1. Create and manage your account and provide the Service (content creation, CMS, exports, test/doubt portals).
2. Process payments, subscriptions, renewals, and refunds.
3. Provide AI-assisted features such as OCR extraction, question tagging, translation, and adaptive learning recommendations.
4. Communicate with you — service updates, billing notices, support responses, and (where you have opted in) product updates or marketing.
5. Monitor, maintain, and improve the security, performance, and functionality of the Platform.
6. Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms & Conditions.

We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

We may share information with:

• Service providers: Cloud hosting, payment gateways, email/SMS/WhatsApp communication providers, and analytics providers, strictly to help us operate the Service, under confidentiality obligations.
• Export/integration destinations you choose: If you export or publish content to third-party platforms (e.g., Telegram, Classplus, APPX, or other integrations you connect), the relevant content is shared with that platform as directed by you.
• Your institution: If you are a student using the Platform through your school/coaching institute, your activity and performance data may be visible to your teachers/administrators.
• Legal and safety reasons: Where required by law, court order, or government request, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Freekey, our users, or the public.
• Business transfers: In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to this Policy continuing to apply to your information.

We retain personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. You may request deletion of your account and associated personal data, subject to any legal retention requirements (e.g., billing/tax records).

We use reasonable technical and organisational safeguards (such as encryption in transit, access controls, and secure hosting) to protect your information. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Subject to applicable law, you may:

• Access, correct, or update your personal information via your account settings or by contacting us.
• Request deletion of your account and personal data.
• Withdraw consent for marketing communications at any time (e.g., via an unsubscribe link).
• Raise a grievance regarding the handling of your data (see Section 10).

Institutions/educators managing student accounts are responsible for handling access/correction/deletion requests from students and parents in the first instance, and may contact us to action such requests on the Platform.

We use cookies and similar technologies to keep you logged in, remember preferences, and understand how the Platform is used. You can disable cookies through your browser, but some features of the Platform may not function properly without them.

The Platform may contain links to, or integrations with, third-party services (e.g., Telegram, Classplus, APPX, YouTube, payment gateways). This Privacy Policy does not apply to those third parties, and we encourage you to review their respective privacy policies.
